SVPD Annual Retreat 2025

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Helotes Conference Annual Retreat was held at the Schoenstatt Marian Shrine in the Kentenich Community Center in Helotes, Texas, on Saturday, September 27, 2025. The faith-filled day began with a beautiful Communion Service and continued with indoor and outdoor spiritual sessions, fellowship, prayer, and team meditation.

According to Retreat Chair and Spiritual Advisor, Roxana Vargas, “the Retreat was specifically held on the Feast Day of St. Vincent de Paul, with the theme, communion service, presentations and team meditation sessions centered on theme, “The Spirit of the Lord has sent me to be a Vincentian.”  A special SVDP cake, baked by Retreat team member Roxie Vargas, was served in honor of St. Vincent de Paul.

This year’s retreat was held specifically for SVdP Our Lady of Guadalupe Church Helotes Vincentian members and volunteers as part of their spiritual development, fellowship, and growth.

Pastor, Father Robert Ploch, as the keynote speaker. Deacon Paul provided a presentation on Catholic Social Justice, and Irene Beach led the meditation and team activities that were facilitated by all four members of the Retreat Team. We are extremely grateful to each member of the Retreat team, led by Spiritual Advisor, Roxana Vargas, for their hard work and logistical planning contributions to make this year’s Retreat a memorable experience for our OLG Helotes SVDP Conference members. The Retreat team consisted of: Deacon Paul Williams, Irene Beach, Roxie Vargas and Spiritual Advisor, Roxana Vargas.
