Help Keep Our Food Pantry Stocked

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church Helotes Conference, distributes food to more than 3,800 neighbors in need annually at our food pantry in Helotes.

We couldn’t do it without the support of our community’s businesses, churches, and people who donate food or host food drives. We are grateful for their hard work and support of our mission to serve our neighbors in need.

How to Donate Food

Donations of non-perishable food items can be dropped off at our office and food pantry during our regular business hours:

  • Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

When you drop off your donation, a volunteer will be available to assist you. The volunteer will weigh the food and provide you with an in-kind donation receipt.

How to Host a Successful Food Drive

Whether it’s your business, club, family, school, or place of worship, you can help people in need by organizing a food collection drive among your friends, neighbors, and co-workers. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Helotes provides food assistance to over 3,800 people a year. Please help our Vincentians keep our food pantry shelves stocked!

Step 1: Let us know if you are hosting a food drive.

Send an email to [email protected].

Step 2: Decide when you will begin and end your food collection drive.

Set deadlines and create a sense of urgency to get those food donations in!

Step 3: Communicate!

Post flyers with a list of our most needed food items to get people informed and excited. Share the flyer in emails, newsletters, and social media posts! Mention the drive in meetings and conversations.

Step 4: Encourage your friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, vendors, and partners to participate.

Get as many people involved as possible. Encourage friendly competitions to see which teams or groups can collect the most food.

Step 5: Set up a central location for your food drive collections.

Use a place that is centrally located and convenient for everyone to drop off their donations. Make sure those who are near the boxes are well informed of the drive so they can answer any questions about it.

Step 6: Drop off your food drive donation at our food pantry.

Donations can be dropped off during our regular business hours: Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
