About SVDP Helotes
Inspired by Gospel Values
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Our Lady of Guadalupe Helotes Conference has a long history of helping people in Helotes and Northwest San Antonio. What began in 1992 as a ministry at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Helotes, Texas, now serves more than 3,800 of our neighbors in need every year.
For more than 30 years, we have been helping our neighbors in need by offering help and hope to individuals and families who are struggling or experiencing temporary hardship.
Our Mission
A network of friends, inspired by Gospel values, growing in holiness, and building a more just world through personal relationships with and service to people in need.
Who We Are
We join together to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to neighbors in need, and keep in the tradition of our founder, Blessed Frédéric Ozanam, and patron, St. Vincent de Paul. In the tradition of its founder, Blessed Frédéric Ozanam, and patron, St. Vincent de Paul, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a Catholic lay organization inspired by Gospel values. Members, known as Vincentians, are people who strive to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to neighbors in need. Our members represent the diversity of our community and are gifted with an awareness that the blessings of time, talent, and treasure are to be shared with their neighbors in need.
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Our Lady of Guadalupe Helotes Conference, is affiliated with the International Society of St. Vincent de Paul, one of the oldest charitable organizations in the world, with nearly 1 million members in 140 countries. In the US, local “conferences” of St. Vincent de Paul cover 4,400 communities encompassing all 50 states. We are united in providing hope and help to those who are struggling – for one-time or ongoing assistance.
“Love the poor. Honor them, my children, as you would honor Christ himself.” – St. Vincent de Paul

What Makes Us Different
