2024 Thanksgiving Food Drive A Great Success

Our Thanksgiving Food Drive was a great success! Thanks to the kindness of our community, we collected 620 Thanksgiving bags and provided more than 500 families in need with a bountiful Thanksgiving feast to share with their family and friends.

The opportunity to give the people we serve help and hope is a blessing to us all, but we don’t do it alone. Our commitment to serving our neighbors in need is possible through the hard work of volunteers from SVDP Helotes – Mark and Lydia Villarreal, who served as co-chairs of the 2024 Thanksgiving Food Drive, and our members who distributed and collected H-E-B bags before and after Masses for three weeks.

We also want to acknowledge Joe Beach, Frances Garcia, Cathy McCoy, James Malik, Shellie Malik, Lauren Malik, Joseph Hinojosa, members of the Young Men’s Service League (including their mothers), and all the other Vincentians who helped behind the scenes.

We are grateful for the generous parishioners at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Helotes who filled up hundreds of food drive bags, caring individuals who made financial contributions, community partners Clean Eatz, Helotes Lions Club, and Forest Hills Presbyterian Church, and our Thanksgiving Food Drive sponsor, H-E-B.

A special donation was made in memory of Jacob Derk VanRamshorst, whose family loved SVDP.

May you all have a very blessed Thanksgiving!
