Thanksgiving Food Drive Collects 700+ HEB Bags of Food for Families In Need

Our Thanksgiving Food Drive was a great success! Thanks to the kindness of our community, we collected more than 700 H-E-B bags filled with items for a bountiful Thanksgiving feast for families in need. We are very grateful for the generous parishioners at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Helotes who filled up hundreds of food drive bags, a Bill Miller B-B-Q affiliated parishioner who made a special donation, other caring individuals who made financial contributions, and our Thanksgiving Food Drive sponsor, H-E-B. Together, we were able to provide more than 500 families in need with a generous Thanksgiving feast.

The opportunity to give the people we serve help and hope is a blessing to us all, but we don’t do it alone. Our commitment to serving our neighbors in need is possible through the hard work of volunteers from SVdP Helotes – our Thanksgiving Food Drive Co-Chairs, Mark and Lydia Villarreal, volunteers who distributed and collected H-E-B bags before and after weekend Mass events for three weeks, volunteers who distributed the filled H-E-B bags to the families in need, and all the other Vincentians who helped behind the scenes.
